In late August 2008 we went on an Alaskan cruise. It was wonderful! We saw quite a few beluga whales when we arrived in Anchorage, but we didn't get any good photos of them because we were on a bus enroute to the ship. Below is one of our pit-stops in Anchorage.
While we were on our cruise, I was 6 months pregnant. I have to say that I did pretty well, except for one particular morning while we were out at sea and there was a storm that day. It was the only time my entire pregnancy when I was sick to my stomach.
We were one of the few young couples on the ship. Seeing the glaciers was awesome!
Our ship was the Princess Sapphire. It was a really nice ship. Even though it was freezing outside, as you can tell by the picture below, we still made time to relax in the jacuzzi at night (I just put my legs in water). Our favorite part of the cruise besides the glaciers, was the food. We ate REALLY well. We ate things that we'll probably never eat again. It was so weird to sit down for an incredible dinner and walk away when we were finished without paying a thing, not even a tip. Every night was a different food experience. Every morning we ate breakfast and a couple of times we got to watch grey whales swim past the ship. I love this picture of us. It was raining this particular morning, so we had to wear extra layers.
Shanne looking very rustic. Very Alaskan...meeoow...purr!
One of our port stops was in a town called Skagway. We took a train up into the mountains there on the White Pass Yukon Route. This was only one of the photos we took.
